The Academy for Life, is the program of “Philanthropy, Arts and Communication”. Philanthropy is one of the main programs that is instilled in all students. Therefore, as each student develops a passion for philanthropy; they can choose to be involved in philanthropy part-time or as a full-time life-long career. The Student Philanthropy Program is worldwide and includes any charity that a “group of students” find a passion for. It includes all students and staff. It also includes all Academy volunteers that have or come to develop a passion for an Academy charity. Our retirees will also be involved along with the students in their chosen charity’s. In addition, our Student Philanthropy Program is open to all worldwide charities that want to have a connection to the Academy. However, to keep it manageable there will be a student, staff (and at some point a retiree), led board to determine what charities will fit and be accepted into our program.
1 – A) OUR CORE PHILANTHROPY PROGRAM:
Our students are given the opportunity to live and train free of charge. Therefore, they will all be instilled with the basic tenet that: “ONE’S LIFE IS MORE WORTHWHILE WHEN GIVING BACK TO OTHERS AND ONE’S COMMUNITY”. This will start with the students helping one another when needed. This help will be given throughout the Academy; but will specifically be seen in our student mentoring program. It will also include outreach to the community and the world. The main program the students will participate in is our: “HELPING TO CURB HOMELESSNESS PROGRAM”. The Academy for Life program will help to “curb” homelessness by training each student to live a meaningful, productive and successful life. In return, our students will hand pick and then work with homeless people. This program will be in a separate location and not intermingled with our Health Spa Retreat or the Academy Campus. The students, along with their advisers, will put the participants through our Personal Dynamics Program (PD). (This is similar to the Tony Robins Programs). They will also give the participants training on how to obtain a job and find a home. Then they will match each person with housing and a job through our “Housing and Jobs for Homeless Program”, that the students run. The “Jobs Program” will include, training individuals that are qualified for some type of self-employment. As a note- The category of homeless participants that our students will select will be people that lost their home for financial reasons. None of our homeless participants will have a severe mental, drug or alcohol problem. In addition, a the students will be weaned from tobacco, as will the homeless participants. This will happen before they will be allowed to enter into the “final leg” of the program; which is: “The Housing and Jobs Program”. The Academy teaches its members how to live a successful life, This means no drugs, “responsible drinking” or no alcohol consumption and no tobacco use. As a replacement to this; our students will learn and will pass onto the homeless participants a healthy way to eat, exercise and stay upbeat for a long, healthy and prosperous life.
The Academy will thrive on the foundation of a mentoring system. The mentoring system is a four-year tiered program staffed and supervised by trained adults; however, the supervisory and training model allows the various levels to mentor the level below them. For example, each first-year student will be matched with a second-year mentor. Each second-year mentor will be mentored by a third-year mentor and so on. This offers the first-year student the benefit of the support, guidance and supervision of an aggregated committee of three upper-class mentors as each seeks to help the other down the line.
Our 501-C-3 nonprofit status gives the Academy the right to open as many businesses as we see a need to open; as long as they are active training businesses. Our students will train in all of the businesses during their first and second years. At the end of their second year they will decide on the business they want to train in as a major during their third and fourth years. Our businesses include, but are not limited to: Philanthropy, Music, Art, Video, Photography, Holistic Health and Healing, Massage Therapy, Barbering, Landscaping and Forestry, Food Service and Restaurant Entrepreneurship and more.
All of our fundraising businesses will promote one another.
All of our businesses are both training business and fundraising businesses. See below to find just a few of the training and fundraising businesses of the Academy.
On the first day, our students will enjoy a day of fun while getting to know one another and becoming comfortable with the Academy. They will all be paired up with a second-year student that will be their guardian for their first week. On the second day, the students will all begin a one-week PD program run by the 2nd and 3rd year students. This is the key to getting all the students to bond with one another as a dedicated and loyal team. This is how we build camaraderie among all the students. At the end of the second week we will match each 1st year student with a 2nd year student, who will be their mentor for the next three years. For the remainder of the year each 1st year student will work with their mentoring group. The purpose of the first year is to teach each student how to “Listen to others and Follow Instruction”, so they can learn to be leaders in their 2nd year. They will learn how to become loyal friends to one another and work together. They will all heal or begin to heal their conscious and subconscious minds which may be causing them to have emotional baggage. They will work in all the training businesses to get a taste of each business so they will know what they want to major in during their 3rd and 4th years. As a core part of the first year, they will assist as groups with all or many of our Philanthropy projects. With participation they will each find their own personal interest, talents and passion for one or more philanthropy projects.
Our 2nd year students will mentor the first-year students. After having learned how to listen and take instruction in their first year; they will now learn to give instruction. This will be done through guidance from their 3rd and 4th year mentors. If needed, their Faculty Advisers and Retirees will also help out. The 2nd year student will work side by side with the 1st year student at times. They will also brainstorm with qualified staff that can help them decide what training program they will chose to go into during their 3rd and 4th years. They will continue to work on emotional and physical issues that they may not have completed in their first-year. Whether they do or do not have deep issues to work on themselves; they will assist others with their issues by way of intimate conversations as groups and/or one on one conversations.
The 3rd and 4th years will be dedicated to the pursuit of each students chosen career. They will also help their 2nd year mentor with their 1st year mentee and with any other needs their 2nd year mentee may have. Each 3rd year student will assist the 4th year students in their chosen training business. The purpose of this is for each 3rd year student to learn all they can in their third year. Once they become 4th year students they can take over and run the business along with their fellow 3rd year “trainee” business partners and their advisers. The 4th year student will run the entire Academy as a team. They will be guided by their business training Advisers, Counselors, Elected Board Members and Chosen Volunteers. Each 4th year student, along with a group of fellow business partner trainees and advisers will make plans for their work experience after graduation. The purpose of this is to give a clear pathway from Academy life to the remainder of each student’s life experience.
Guest houses are just one example of our training/fundraising business that all student can benefit from for life. The Academy students will run the Guest Houses, Airbnb’s and Cabin Retreats, as a part of their overall training at the Academy. The students train at all of our training businesses. But the training in the Guest Houses will allow all of our students an opportunity to live successful, enjoyable, lives and excel in their chosen careers at the same time. As an example: A student that graduates from our art program, may be an amazing artist but have trouble funding their art career, not to mention their lives. By learning how to create a guest house or similar business the graduate/artist will be able to have a nice home to live in and a facility to excel in their art career as well. This becomes an ongoing chain as our student’s train in our graduate’s guest houses; then ultimately graduate and create their own guest house business. This same program will work for all of our students in any chosen curriculum. In addition, with Academy support, the students will have a path to receiving needed funding and support for their ventures as they graduate.
This will start as an online magazine that features a realm of interests such as fashion, fitness, dinning, health, interior design, landscaping, spirituality, travel etc. It will also include Academy sponsors that wish to advertise their products in our online magazine. (The online magazine will promote all of our other fundraising programs and training businesses.
We have several videos that our students will create and market on YouTube. The videos will be an ongoing series and will be directed and produced mostly by video students and photography students under the supervision of their instructors. All students will at times get to help so they can get a taste of video and photography.
As an additional phase of the Academy, we are building a retirement community. The retirees that would desire to live in this community will be adult mentors/advisers to the students. Retirees will be accepted based on their interest in the Academy, some aspect of the Academy programs and who have a passion for our Philanthropy Programs. The retirees will be able to assume the role of experienced mentors to the students from entry level and throughout the four years of residency. It will give them a path for an ongoing impact on the overall lives of the students and an open outlet for each of them to create a passion for any aspect of our philanthropy programs. In turn, they will have the opportunity to have a strong impact on our worldwide philanthropy programs. Part of the benefits for the students and retirees is that each student will get emotional support, wisdom and life lessons from the retirees. As the retirees get older and may need help in their older age; the students will have the opportunity and the life experience of giving back to their beloved retired mentors. The retirees will be part of a loving community of friendships with each other and the students. The retirees will receive emotional support from each other and the students. In addition, if needed retirees will receive caregiving support from fellow retirees and the students. As the saying goes, “What comes around goes around”. In the long run our alumni will be first on the list to join our retirement community. “What comes around goes around”
The Academy is designed as a Retreat, for both men and women’s physical and emotional healing, rest, relaxation and enthusiastic fun. The buildings that make up the Academy are set on a landscape of restful nature of a private park. The Academy has guest houses, a luxury spa with massage, swimming, hot tubs, steam rooms and saunas in a restful, relaxing and meditative atmosphere. Socializing is a given and is easy no matter what you are doing. But in addition, we do have a cozy lounge/coffee shop that gives everyone a place to go that is also upscale in its décor, but at the same time relaxing and friendly. For meals, we have a restaurant where all of our guests, students, staff and volunteers can choose to enjoy eating together, inside or outside, in casual luxury. In addition, if you desire, you can also enjoy dinning in a more private intimate location with someone special or a group of new or old friends.
Our curriculum includes Art, Photography, Video, Music, theater, Food Service, Massage Therapy, Holistic Health, Energy Healing and subconscious emotional release. The guests at our Academy will enjoy the work that all of our students and professional practitioners have excelled in. Our guests can also choose to enjoy working along with the students in art, music, singing, acting and spiritual energy healing.
The Academy is designed to have an underlying atmosphere of spirituality and divinely directed energy healing, laying on of hands, reiki, massage therapy and more. The retreat is a place of complete relaxation, enjoyment, fun and healing. We have many curriculums that our students can specialize in. All of our students, staff, volunteers and guests, will be taught the art of holistic energy healing.
When our guests arrive at the Academy, they will be escorted to their room by one of our student guides. The guest rooms at the Academy are that of quality, upscale, casual comfort. After the guests have gotten settled in they will be given a fun, uplifting, orientation and a tour of the Retreat by their student guides. This tour is fun and joy-filled as our student tour guides are trained in befriending others and making them all become a part of our family at the Academy. This is an easy task for our students because camaraderie with one another is one of the main tenets of the Academy. At the end of the tour our guests will enjoy a dinner party that our students, staff and volunteers will also attend and will promote enjoyable camaraderie amongst all.
Our guests will all be treated with the respect of a V.I.P, while at the same time being treated as friends with an enjoyable amount of laughter and camaraderie. Meanwhile all of our students, staff and volunteers will also be there to all enjoy together. It is our goal to see that all of our guests create lifelong friendships with others at the Academy.
All guests can enjoy outdoor activities if they choose to; according to the season of the year. Of course, all of our guests have the opportunity to choose activities that suit them best. Some of the activities will be hiking, swimming, sports, camping and campfires with upbeat enthusiastic chats, sing-along’s, bbq’s and more. All activities will include enjoyable camaraderie amongst all attending.
Having said all of this, the purpose of the retreat is healing ones mind, body and spirit as needed. Our students, staff and volunteers are trained in the art of healing. They will help you connect your mind, body and spirit with the divine universal consciousness for your optimal healing. This will be done through private healing sessions with holistic energy healing practitioners along with the overall atmosphere of the retreat. This includes the spa, massage, activities and the overall attitude of all the members of the Academy.
Students that have chosen to participate in holistic energy healing will have become energy healing practitioners. They are at the same time still toning their abilities everyday; so when they graduate they will have a successful life full of health happiness and financial stability and prosperity. All of our guests will be given the opportunity to learn lessons that the students have learned over the 4 years through optional lectures, chats, group discussions and one on one discussion with members of the Academy. The purpose of this is to teach our guests how to heal their mind, body and spirit through healthy living, spiritual awareness and insights. There is no requirement or judgments of our students, staff, volunteers or guests as to your spiritual beliefs. All are welcome.
